I'm working on getting official permission to use the CSU fields. They are ideal, so long as there is enough interest. Last time I tried it not a single person showed up, but if people want a NC game we should be able to make it happen

ACL injuries are caused by being over weight.

I'm going to be utterly ignorant and foolish here by putting a hypothesis out there that ACL injuries are caused by being over weight and out of shape. Of course I have never had such an injury (knock on wood) and realize this is a ballsy, perhaps stupid blog post but I wanted to get your opinion on the subject.

I was watching a game on my laptop and somehow a comment from one of the commentators slipped under the radar of the other guys on the panel (or perhaps was ignored)

I've never seen such beautiful soccer fields as these in my Life.

At this point in the game, I've seen a lot of soccer fields across the US, up and down the East coast. And by a lot, I mean a lot. Few however compare to the fields I visited last night at John B Lewis Soccer fields in Asheville NC.

As you enter the JBL soccer complex fields (at night any way) it feels like you are entering a movie set. The complex is surrounded by mountains on all sides. In one direction the sky is red, in the other a deep blue. There is a mist that sits ju

Americans = Fair Weather Soccer Consumers?

It funny, if you look at the statistics on Spoccer activity over the years, you see the patterns that emerge. Spring and Summer shows bulges in the numbers of people ready to pull their cleats on. We get our greatest percentage of soccer newbies through the warm months (which of course is awesome) and then the fewest numbers in the winter. Only the die hard players can be found in miserable ice and cold still stubbornly trying to mash the ball through snow and slush towards the goal.

Creating a pickup soccer group sucks.

Creating a pickup soccer group sucks ... if you do it wrong. Plain and simple.

At Spoccer.com we put our best foot forward to try and help you create your own pickup group. We provide a cool How-to guide that outlines what we suggest you do to get numbers for your new group. However it is important to understand that simply joining Spoccer and creating a group isn't enough.

So here is a list of what not to do when creating… Continue

3 v 3 World Tour - Daddy likes. :)

So I just wanted to mention the 3 v 3 World Tour that is creeping up on us guys. To me it is perfect for Spoccer members as you can get a team put together relatively easy for this (just post a couple comments on the city wall etc). Roster size can be 3 to 6 players ... adult divisions and kids
divisions. In a sense Spoccer players are training for this kind of
thing every day at pickup. :)

As you can see from that… Continue

you missed a good game on Thursday, Pisgah Spoccer won its first game! Hope to see you sometime this week, may not be able to make it tomorrow afternoon (work duties) but I'm hoping to be at memorial field on Wednesday evening and definitely will be at JBL Thursday for Spoccer's league game.

Thanks Dave. I'll be a seasonal player since I make it to Asheville one week a year but wanted to make sure I got some exercise while there. I will be arriving Saturday night. Any pick up soccer the rest of the weekend? how about Tue/Thu lunch pick up?
Let me know.
