Spoccer Interview on WRIR 97.3's the Total Football Soccer Show

Did you know that Richmond has a soccer radio show? Well, it does. In the summer of 2009, Taylor Rockwell and myself persuaded WRIR 97.3 that there was an audience in Richmond for a weekly soccer show. The existence of Spoccer was one of the examples we used to convince the initially skeptical gatekeepers and we've been broadcasting on 97.3 - Thursday afternoons at 12:30pm - ever since.

Our most recent show was focused on pickup soccer, and as part of that I spent 10 minutes shining a harsh light in Dave McKillen's face and interrogating him about Spoccer, asking how the organization got started, what's involved in keeping it running, and also a few general questions about Dave's perception of soccer culture in the USA. We even talked about Gaelic football and hurling for a while. But not for too long.
